Met haar nieuwste single ‘Dat Gevoel’ keert Nina terug naar de jaren 80. Net zoals The Weekend, Dua Lipa, Doja Caten vele anderen, grijpt ook Nina terug naar de sound van toen. Een tijd van catchy deuntjes die een instant happiness gevoel triggeren. De titel werd dus niet zomaar gekozen en beschrijft het zalige gevoel van vlinders in de buik. “Ik was natuurlijk nog niet geboren in de jaren 80, maar ik vind de muziek uit die tijd heel erg leuk en inspirerend. Daarom wou ik graag eens een 80’s-nummer maken. Ik hou van variatie en op deze manier wil ik laten zien wat ik nog allemaal in mijn mars heb”, zegt Nina.
De tandem Butera-Severs begint stilaan een gekend begrip te worden in Vlaanderen. Zo schreef Nina haar succesvolle single ‘Van Vooraf Aan’ samen met haar producer Christophe Severs. Het nummer werd geselecteerd als één van de kanshebbers op de prestigieuze prijs ‘Radio 2 Zomerhit 2020’. “Het was een ongelofelijke ervaring om live op televisie tussen al die grote namen te mogen optreden. Ik kreeg heel veel complimentjes uit mijn omgeving en van mensen die de show gezien hebben, dat deed enorm veel deugd. Hopelijk vinden ze mijn nieuw nummer minstens even goed, al hoop ik stiekem dat dit het nog beter doet dan de vorige”, zegt een glunderende Nina Butera. “Het is ook wel heel straf dat Nina – die bij het schrijven amper 15 was – met haar eerste song die we samen schreven al meteen hoge toppen kon scheren. Daarom kozen we er resoluut voor om onze volgende nummers allemaal zelf te schrijven en dat is nu dus ook zo met haar nieuw nummer ‘Dat Gevoel’. Nina en ik werken al van in het begin samen en we zitten nog steeds op dezelfde golflengte. Dat Nina’s nummer werd geselecteerd als mogelijke Radio 2 Zomerhit, is voor ons een bevestiging dat we goed bezig zijn. Nina heeft nog zó veel dromen die we samen willen verwezenlijken. Daar kunnen we heel wat energie en motivatie uit putten”, aldus een fiere Christophe Severs.
